The Lutheran World Federation Youth Blog gives a glimpse into youth cultures around the world.
From Roger Schmidt, the Secretary for the Lutheran World Federation Youth, in response to why the LWF Youth Blog was started.
The Lutheran World Federation understands itself as a communion of churches and people around the world who are united in Jesus Christ. When we are having a global youth (young adult) meeting, everybody feels that we are united beyond nationality, language, culture or what else may separate us. That is clearly visible when we are actually meeting. But that cannot be very often and mostly the meetings are rather small. And the sense of unity is so easily forgotten in the time between. The LWF Youth Blog is the attempt to live this sense of Christian unity throughout the year.
What does Schmidt enjoy most from the blog?
I enjoy most to read posts from young people from Colombia, Poland, Indonesia, Madagascar, the US on a regular basis. They talk about their lives and their churches and I am reminded that I am connected in Christ to something much bigger than my limited National reality.
