Every so often I get an urge to rhyme things. I've incorporated parts of the poem in my srmon for tomorrow.
I have no ideawhy the posting all came out in 1's.
- I will sing for my God above
The one whom I hold as beloved.
- I will sing of his ardor great
Expended on his arbor of grape.
- He shoveled a trench all around
Unstoned every stone from the ground.
- A vineyard set high on a hill
With sweat and toil, the soil he tilled.
- He planted the choicest of vines.
He had plans for finest of wines.
- With limestone he built a wall high
A watch tower stretched to the sky.
- A winepress he hewed for the juice.
A stone trough to act as a sluice.
- Expecting fruit ripe, red and plumpy
the fruitage was diseased and frumpy.
- Now, it is you, you I ask
What did I leave undone, untasked?
- Now people of God, you decide,
Is it my vineyard or me that you chide?
- Why did it not bear grapes bright red;
But puny and shriveled instead?
- Listen, you who sit in the pew
To what I am intending to do.
- The hedge I planted, I cut down.
The wall I will raze to the ground.
- The vines I will let be despoiled
I forbid rain to rain on the soil.
- We are the vineyard of the Lord
Who possess his living true Word.
- Christ is our Vineyard raised up
Of Him we drink when we take the cup.
- He powers us to live justly.
He looks for us to live rightly.
It looks like TypePad thought you were starting a new list each time. If you take out the all of the /ol tags except the last one, the numbering should fix itself.
